I have been a remote employee since 2006. I have been the only remote employee at an organization and also worked with fully distributed teams.
One day in August of 2021, I wrote a LinkedIn post about The Great Resignation. My husband was starting a new job after his employer ordered him back into the office. It generated an unexpected amount of interest—close to 4 million views and 1,800 comments. Clearly it is a conversation that people want to have.
The attention gave me the opportunity to talk about remote work, flexible work, and the future of work in several different forums.
